Venetian Plaster

Made from fired limestone, venetian plaster – also known as lime plaster – is used in the same way today as it was in ancient Greece and Egypt, showing how this durable material stands the test of time, both physically and aesthetically.

This wall and ceiling finish consists of plaster mixed with marble dust and applied with a spatula or trowel in multiple thin layers, which are then burnished to create a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture.

Venetian plaster can be used to create a highly polished, rock-hard, marble-like finish and is especially useful on surfaces where marble panels cannot be easily installed, and on surfaces where using carved marble is too costly, such as columns, corbels, and curved walls.

Venetian plaster can be tinted or coloured using natural or synthetic colorants. Through the application of a top layer of wax sealant, Venetian plaster can also be rendered waterproof.

Marmorino

This exclusive material, made from natural lime and ground marbles, has been favoured by high-end architects and designers since as far back as Roman times. Marmorino is still produced in compliance with the ancient Venetian formulas and is known for giving a classic marbled, polished finish.

Marmorino is applied using a stainless steel trowel, generally in a two coat system, and can be applied to create a wide range of textures, from polished marble to natural stone effects.

This versatile material is a favourite among artisan designers as it can be used in both internal or external environments and created in hundreds of colours and blends for bespoke decorative finishes.
